Dear USA Sai Young Adults, Sai Ram!

We hope this email finds you happy and healthy.

Recently, the World Foundation provided Swami with an update on the World Youth Conference (WYC) preparations, which also included the implementation of the International Sadhana Program. After all details were shared with Him, Swami asked, "Are youth really practicing the Sadhana?" At another instance, Swami asked, "What are the USA youth doing?"

While we may interpret these words in a variety of ways, at the very least, the USA young adult leadership would like to improve upon our Sadhana (spiritual discipline) efforts. These spiritual disciplines are not only for Conference delegates, or only to be practiced until the WYC. These disciplines are for all of us to build lifelong habits, and shape the way we live our lives.

To build greater unity amongst the USA Sai Young Adults, we suggest all youth to collectively engage in two of the nine disciplines, Light Meditation and Namasmarana (repetition of the Lord's name), as Swami emphasizes on these two practices for our spiritual growth. http://www.sssbpt. info/vahinis/ dhyana/dhyana02. pdf

We have outlined the suggested disciplines as follows:

NAMASMARANA: Chant the Gayatri Mantra 21 times at 21:00 hrs (9pm) local time, wherever you are, starting today! Swami has said, "The Gayatri mantra is enough to protect the person who chants it, because Gayatri embodies all the divine potencies. It is an essential requisite for the young because it
ensures a bright and auspicious future for them." (August 23, 1995 Discourse)

LIGHT MEDITATION: Begin study circles, and all young adult gatherings with light meditation. If possible, individually undertake this each day. Swami wrote, "Through meditation, people reach the divine experience of realising the
Atma within themselves." (Dhyana Vahini, p17)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

OM SRI SAI RAM!

The Sri Sathya Sai World Youth Conference, under the auspices of the Sathya Sai World Foundation, has been blessed by Bhagawan to take place on the 26th to 28th of July 2007.  By Bhagawan's infinite grace a Sai International Youth Choir will be formed to mark this historic event.

We would like to invite Sai Youth who have an interest and talent for singing or playing instruments to join.  We require between 15 to 20 singers and musicians from each Zone, aged 16 to 35 years to take part in this Sai International Youth Choir.  The Choir will represent the International aspect of the Sai Youth from around the world focusing upon unity of all cultures and religions.  It will be an expression of unconditional love for Swami.  We are very fortunate to have leading the Choir Alma Badings who is a professional Musician, Conductor and Violinist. 

The songs that will be performed will be in four part harmonies.  Ladies and gentleman will be both divided into high and low voices.  Sai Youth from all Zones will be further encouraged to contribute their own compositions made up of lively songs containing this spirit and essence univeral Love.  Any Sai Youth wishing to submit their own compositions for review should kindly contact the Choir Conductor: Alma Badings. 

Once these songs have been finalised the music and songs will be put onto the Internet, so that singers may practice before the auditions in Prashanti.  Once the auditions are over the rehearsals will commence on 16th July 2007.

Dear Young Adults,

Sai Greetings to all! Hope this email finds you happy and healthy during the
holiday season. The WYC 2007 theme is in, "IDEAL SAI YOUTH: MESSENGERS OF
SAI LOVE". While dates are not fully confirmed, Swami has accepted, and
blessed the tentative program presented to Him by Dr. Narendra Reddy,
suggesting 3 days for the conference. Swami has said on two occassions, that
the youth conference should be held during "Guru Poornima time". Guru
Poornima falls on July 29, 2007. If you plan to attend, please keep the last
week of July open, and if you will be involved in preparations or
presentations, we suggest you keep the last 2 weeks available.
