Pre - World Youth Conference III Study Circles

What is this program?

Our goal is to create study circle material for local YA groups based on the theme of the conference. This will enable YA’s to focus on the theme and how we can implement it into our daily lives while being part of a unifying national program. We hope that by participating in the pre-conference study-circles, YAs will experience wonderful spiritual discipline and continued spiritual bond to our beloved Swami.

Who has created this study circle material?

Guided by the inner Baba within us all, the core team realized that if we study characteristics of the Ideal Sai Youth, we will, in fact, become the Messengers of Sai Love. We have chosen as the foundation for our studies the five values of truth, right conduct, love, peace, and non-violence, and key sub-values (aspects or windows through which to view each value) associated with these. Two sub values from each human value will be studied.

When will it be available?

Two study circles subvalue formats will be released every month, starting from February 2007 with Right Conduct. We would like to encourage every local group to conduct at least two study circle meetings every month.

The goal would be to study two subvalues associated with each of the five human values in one month. Then the next month we would move onto two different subvalues of a different human value. By starting in February we would have studied ten sub-values, two from each of the five values, by the end of June.

Documents

We have tried to make it as simple as possible for the facilitators of each group. The first file is a the Light Meditation mp3 file. We recommend that the group conduct the meditation at the start of each study circle. For each sub-value there are two or three files. The first file is the suggested study circle in PowerPoint. The second file is a Word document that is a slide-by-slide Supplement for the study circle used by the facilitator. This will help guide the facilitator to encourage discussion and provoke spiritual insight. The third file will be a handout for each of the Young Adults to take home. They will contain exercises.
