The National Gayatri Team wishes everyone a happy and prosperous New Year filled with Swami's divine presence. We shared the practicing of Gayatri Mantra as a country in November of last year. To help us practice daily chanting, as per Swami’s guidance of 3 times a day (morning, noon, night), we have a few tips suggested by some of our Sai brothers and sisters to help each other in connecting to Swami at all times.

Swami also says that "The sound of a Mantra is as valuable as its meaning." We have study circle material available online to help you delve deeper into the importance and power of the Gayatri chant as explained by Swami. Included in the study circle are the teachings Swami gave to Dr. E. B. Fanibunda ["Vision of the Divine", p 79 -88] about the Gayatri Mantra, such as:
“The heart needs to be cleansed thrice a day - dawn, noon and dusk. Besides these times, Bhagavan said that the Gayatri Mantra can be repeated anywhere at any time, including night- time.”
Offering of the Month to Swami:
We request all the YAs to join in our prayers for world peace. After the daily Gayatri chants please take a moment to pray to Swami for peace in the Middle East, Africa, India, and for suffering all over the world.
Tips for the Month
- GIM (Gayatri Instant Message) / GPS (Gayatri phone system) – Pair up with a friend on IM/Phone and ping/SMS/text message each other daily to remind and chant the Gayatris together. You can even do it together… that’s even more fun!!!
- Conference bridge - For the 21st century sages- in- making, a conference bridge is set up daily (0630, 1230, 1830 - all EST) to chant the mantra 11 times each time. The bridge information - 712 432 0800; passcode -160380#
- Gayatri ring tone- A great way to remind ourselves to chant the Gayatri would be to set up Swami chanting the Gayatri as the ring tone. What better way to chant other than with Swami?
